Born in Leighton Buzzard, England Michael Blow moved to New Zealand at the age of five.He studied art first at the Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland and after graduation at the Sir John Cass School of Fine Arts in London.
His inspiration was European painting from the Renaissance to the Impressionists and next he spent a year visiting and studying in the major galleries of Europe and Scandinavia.
He returned to New Zealand in 1972 and was engaged as tutor for the Hawke’s bat Art Gallery and Museum until he became a full time professional artist in 1975. He won the ‘Kelliher Art Award’ in 1977 and the ‘George Harrison Art Award' in 1980 for more visit http://www.michaelblow.co.nz
